Packers Nearing Deal to Sign 5-Time All-Pro Guard to Strengthen Interior Offensive Line
Green Bay, WI. The Green Bay Packers are reportedly closing in on a major offseason addition as they work to reinforce the interior of their offensive line following their championship season.
League sources indicate that Green Bay is nearing a contract agreement with veteran guard Joel Bitonio, a five-time All-Pro and one of the most respected interior linemen of the past decade.

Bitonio spent his entire NFL career with the Cleveland Browns after being selected in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
Over the past 12 seasons, he developed a reputation as one of the league’s most consistent and technically sound offensive guards.
The veteran lineman has earned five All-Pro selections and multiple Pro Bowl appearances while serving as the anchor of Cleveland’s offensive line for more than a decade.
Despite entering his age-34 season, Bitonio remains highly valued across the league due to his experience, leadership, and ability to stabilize an offensive line.
For Green Bay, the move is driven by several important factors.
First, the Packers are looking to improve the interior protection of their offense, an area that showed inconsistency at times last season despite the team’s overall success.

Second, the organization wants to add a veteran presence to the offensive line room, giving the unit more leadership, experience, and stability heading into another championship push.
Bitonio is expected to play left guard, the position he has dominated for most of his career. If the deal is finalized, Green Bay may shift other linemen along the interior to maximize the offensive line’s overall strength.
The Packers also view the veteran as a short-term championship window addition, bringing in a proven, battle-tested lineman to help protect the offense while the team attempts to defend its Super Bowl title.
If the contract is completed, the signing would represent one of the most significant offensive line upgrades of Green Bay’s offseason and a clear signal that the franchise intends to remain among the NFL’s top contenders.
