GREAT NEWS: Sean McVay Officially Appoints Two Super Bowl LVI Champions with Rams to the Los Angeles Coaching Staff – Signaling a Bold New Chapter for the Franchise

Woodland Hills, California – The Los Angeles Rams are bringing championship DNA back into the building. Head coach Sean McVay has officially appointed former Super Bowl LVI champions Brian Allen and Robert Woods to the team’s coaching staff, a move that reconnects the franchise’s championship past with its ambitious future.

Sean McVay was as frustrated as he’s ever been as the head coach of the Rams after losing to Seattle

McVay quickly addressed the narrative surrounding the hires. Some believed the appointments were simply favors for former players who helped the Rams win the Super Bowl. The head coach firmly rejected that idea, emphasizing that Allen and Woods earned the opportunity because of their football intelligence, leadership qualities, and deep understanding of the Rams’ culture.

“This has nothing to do with doing anyone a favor. It’s about bringing in people who understand what championship football looks like. They know the standard here, they know the culture we’ve built, and I truly believe they’re going to help push this team toward another special era.”

Allen will step into the role of assistant offensive line coach after previously working with the team in a consulting capacity during the 2025 season. McVay said Allen consistently demonstrated a unique ability to read the game from a coaching perspective, often identifying adjustments in real time during both practices and games.

The former Rams center also earned praise for his leadership and ability to connect with younger offensive linemen. Even while he was still playing, Allen studied the game with the mindset of a future coach. His attention to detail and passion for teaching convinced McVay that bringing him onto the staff full-time was the right decision.

Meanwhile, Woods begins a new chapter as assistant wide receivers coach shortly after signing a one-day contract to retire as a Ram. Known for his professionalism and football IQ throughout his career, Woods had expressed interest in coaching as his playing days approached their conclusion.

McVay believes Woods’ experience within the Rams’ offensive system will make him an invaluable mentor for the team’s young receivers. Having experienced both the highs of a Super Bowl championship and the challenges of a long NFL career, Woods understands exactly what it takes to succeed at the highest level.

Both Allen and Woods will still have to learn the technical side of coaching, from film breakdowns to designing plays within the team’s digital playbook systems. However, McVay believes their work ethic and the strong support system within the Rams coaching staff will accelerate their development.

For Rams fans, the move represents more than just two coaching hires. It symbolizes continuity within a championship culture, where former players return to help shape the next generation. If McVay’s vision proves correct, Allen and Woods may soon become key architects of the Rams’ next Super Bowl pursuit.

Los Angeles Rams Are the Only Team Pursuing A.J. Brown After New England Patriots Pull Out of the Race – Rams Lead the Charge for the Super Bowl Champion's Signature
Los Angeles, California – Los Angeles Rams are still actively pursuing A.J. Brown, wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles, after signing Davante Adams last offseason. After New England Patriots withdrew from the race due to Eagles' high demands, Rams are now leading the charge to acquire the player. "We are still actively negotiating with the Eagles about A.J. Brown. This is an important target for us," a source from Rams shared. Patriots pulled out after Eagles asked for an unreasonably high price, leaving Rams as the only team continuing the negotiations. The price requested by Eagles is said to be similar to when Davante Adams was traded from Green Bay Packers to Las Vegas Raiders in the 2022 offseason, which included a first-round and second-round pick. A.J. Brown, 28, is expected to bring similar value in this deal. Brown has been a three-time Pro Bowl selection, with 78 receptions, 1,003 yards, and 7 touchdowns in 15 games (all starts) during the 2025 season. Over his 7 seasons with Tennessee Titans and Eagles, he has accumulated 524 receptions, 8,029 yards, and 56 touchdowns. "A.J. Brown is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL today. Having him will help us build a strong offense," Rams head coach Sean McVay said. Rams are looking to pair Brown with Matthew Stafford next season, forming a dynamic offensive duo that no team will want to face. With Patriots bowing out, if Rams successfully land A.J. Brown, it will be the blockbuster deal of this free agency period. Alongside Matthew Stafford, Brown will be a powerful offensive weapon for Rams in the coming season. "A duo of Stafford and Brown will be a huge threat to any defense," an NFL analyst remarked. A deal with Brown could make Rams the most formidable offense in the NFC next season.
