Bills Strike on Day 2 of Free Agency — Buffalo Signs 2-Time Super Bowl Champion LB

Buffalo, NY – March 10, 2026
Day two of the NFL’s legal tampering period has already brought another notable development for the Buffalo Bills.
After a relatively quiet opening day that saw the team focus on secondary depth and quarterback insurance, the front office returned to the market looking to strengthen the heart of its defense.
General manager Brandon Beane has made it clear that Buffalo intends to reshape the roster with toughness and postseason experience in mind.
With several veteran defenders leaving in recent months and the linebacker group needing reinforcement, the Bills have spent the early portion of free agency exploring options that could bring both physicality and championship pedigree to the defense.
According to Adam Schefter, the Bills have reached an agreement with former Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Leo Chenal on a three-year contract worth up to $25 million.

The deal was negotiated by Chenal’s agents Drew Rosenhaus and Oliver Chell, bringing a two-time Super Bowl champion to Buffalo.
Chenal built his reputation in Kansas City as a powerful, downhill linebacker capable of impacting both the defensive front and special teams units.
Standing 6-foot-3 with elite strength at the point of attack, he became a valuable rotational defender during the Chiefs’ championship runs.
Originally selected in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Chenal quickly earned respect for his physical playing style and ability to disrupt running lanes.
His presence often allowed Kansas City’s defense to control the line of scrimmage, particularly in short-yardage situations where his instincts and power made him difficult to block.
For Buffalo, the signing represents more than just adding depth. The Bills have been searching for players who understand the demands of championship football, and Chenal arrives with experience from one of the NFL’s most successful recent dynasties.
His arrival strengthens a defense that will once again be tasked with supporting quarterback Josh Allen as Buffalo continues its pursuit of a Super Bowl title.
With free agency still unfolding, the addition of Chenal signals that the Bills are determined to build a tougher roster capable of competing deep into the postseason.
